CVS Health (Woonsocket, RI) completed the $12.9 billion acquisition of Omnicare Inc (Cincinnati, OH), a Fortune 500 company that provides pharmacy service for LTC facilities. Omnicare’s shareholders approved the deal August 18, 2015, which followed approval from federal regulators earlier in August 2015. CVS Health did not disclose details regarding the integrated operation or of the future employment of Omnicare’s 600 corporate employees and 13,000 workers.
