Advanced Home Care to sell other divisions
HIGH POINT — Advanced Home Care has entered into a second definitive agreement in as many weeks to sell the company’s home health, specialty pharmacy and infusion services to one of the industry’s leading home health care companies. AHC’s home health, specialty pharmacy and infusion services will join Louisville, Kentucky-based BrightSpring Health Services, the parent company of a family of brands that provides complementary pharmacy, home and community-based health services for people of all ages, health and skill levels across the country.
BrightSpring will operate the home health business under the Advanced Home Health name. The infusion and specialty pharmacy division will operate as Advanced Home Infusion. AHC announced earlier this week that its home medical equipment business will be acquired by AdaptHealth Corp., one of the nation’s largest home medical equipment companies that services more than 1 million patients annually across 49 states.
“Our member health systems have supported and fully participated in our evaluation of ownership options to transform Advanced Home Care into a national company,” said Joel Mills, CEO of Advanced Home Care. “We reiterate what we said when announcing the AdaptHealth acquisition: We believe this is the best opportunity for future growth for our company and employees.”
Both the BrightSpring and AdaptHealth transactions are expected to close in February 2020. Advanced Home Care is a not-for-profit home health care agency that provides infusion therapy, skilled nursing, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, nutrition services and medical equipment to more than 50,000 patients in the homes every day.
Located in High Point, Advanced Home Care has 33 branches located throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee and Virginia, and is a joint venture of 12 health systems throughout these areas.
