CHS completes divestiture Texas hospital to HCA and 5 Pennsylvania hospitals to Reading Health System

Community Health Systems Inc (CHS) (Franklin, TN) completed the divestiture of five Pennsylvania hospitals and their associated assets to subsidiaries of Reading Health System (Reading, PA). The five hospitals included in the transaction were 169-bed Brandywine Hospital (Coatesville), 148-bed Chestnut Hill Hospital (Philadelphia), 63-bed Jennersville Hospital (West Grove), 151-bed Phoenixville Hospital (Phoenixville), and 232-bed Pottstown Memorial Medical Center (Pottstown). CHS also completed the sale of 103-bed Weatherford Regional Medical Center (Weatherford, TX) and its associated assets to subsidiaries of HCA Healthcare (Nashville, TN). Both transactions were effective October 1, 2017.
