Fresenius Medical Care (Waltham, MA) announced the closing of the divestment of Shiel Medical Laboratory Inc to Quest Diagnostics Inc (Secaucus, NJ), effective December 7, 2017. The divestment is aligned with Fresenius Medical Care’s goal of further optimizing the company’s Care Coordination portfolio. Spectra Labs, the dialysis-related laboratory services business of Fresenius Medical Care, is not affected by the divestiture. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
