WellSpan Health sold WellSpan Medical Equipment, to national firm
Adapt Health

WellSpan Health has sold its durable medical equipment business,
WellSpan Medical Equipment, to national firm Adapt Health,
effective June 1 2025.

“WellSpan is constantly evaluating the rapidly changing
healthcare landscape throughout the communities we serve to
determine how to best continue providing high-quality care,” said
a WellSpan spokesperson.

WellSpan said that the Adapt Health acquisition should improve
focus on the health system’s primary business of direct patient
care.

According to its website, publicly-listed Adapt Health operates
661 locations in 47 states. Regionally, it operates under several
different brands, including TriCounty, which has locations in
Reading and Camp Hill.

Existing WellSpan Medical Equipment locations are expected to
close, but customers should be able to access the same medical
equipment through mail order, a customer service representative
explained, but those plans have not yet been confirmed.

WellSpan currently operates three WellSpan Medical Equipment
locations, at 301 Schneider Drive in Lebanon, 1081 Sharp Avenue
in Ephrata, and 2013 Springwood Road in York.

WellSpan said that Adapt has a national presence with
state-of-the-art technology and services. “This change will
allow WellSpan’s patients and communities to have full access to
a comprehensive product portfolio of medical equipment across
central Pennsylvania,” said a WellSpan spokesperson.

WellSpan said its priority is supporting team members impacted
through the acquisition, and that AdaptHealth “will be
assimilating almost all of WellSpan DME team members into its
organization.”

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Schneider Drive location originally opened in August 1997 as
GSH Home Med Care.
